Sharon International Ministries

School in India

HELP IS NEEDED NOW!!

CAN YOU HELP US?

We are providing children of the poorest castes in the Andhra Pradesh state of Southern India with a basic education at a school which has been built thanks to the generosity of numerous friends and acquaintances. So far the ground floor has been completed and the school opened in June 2008.  Originally it was built for 200 pupils, but such is the urgent need, over 700 applied and finally a compromise had to be made and 400 pupils were accepted, which meant additional temporary buildings and an increase in the number of staff.   Some funds are being raised locally to help with the expenses but here in Beaconsfield we should like to find sufficient people who are willing to become a ‘Friend of the School’ and make an on-going commitment by making a gift aided standing order to Sharon International Ministries which is the charity set up in India responsible for the school. This would go towards covering the running costs of the school which are modest in comparison to European standards.

For example: if 10 people gift aided just £5 per month this would pay for a teacher’s salary.

If you can help in this way, then in exchange, we will give you a regular update of the building progress and more importantly the development of the children.  We have many pictures showing the development of the school and its pupils. We also keep in touch on a regular basis with Dr. Sam Karra, whose vision has got us this far. Sheila and I shall be visiting the school next February, so an up to date report will be available after our visit.

We would be very grateful for help with the teachers’ salaries and

upkeep of the buildings.  If you can help or would like more information

please telephone Tom and Sheila on 01494 676373
